Privacy Policy for Market Insight
Effective Date: October 23, 2026
Overview
Market Insight ("we," "our," or "us") gives a plain bullish, neutral or bearish read on U.S. stocks and cryptocurrencies. This policy explains what the app and the services that support it handle when you use it. You do not need an account. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Information We Do Not Collect
- No direct identity details: we do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and there are no accounts.
- No location data.
- No advertising or hardware IDs: the app does not collect your advertising ID or hardware identifiers. RevenueCat uses a separate anonymous App User ID for subscription status, as described below.
- No brokerage or payment-card details: the app does not connect to a brokerage or place trades, and we do not receive your card or bank-account details. If you subscribe to Pro, Apple processes the payment and RevenueCat processes subscription information used to check access and restore purchases.
What the App Sends to Our Server
The app gets its market data from our server. To do that it sends:
- The symbols it needs: the coins and stocks shown on Home, and the ones you have starred, so the server can return their data. The server may keep a list of requested symbols to keep their data fresh. We do not associate these symbols with an account or an app-generated device ID. Network requests still expose an IP address to the hosting provider, as described below.
- Anonymous usage counts (on by default): if enabled, the app sends only the name of a screen or tab that was opened, for example "tab:stats". The event does not contain an account or device identifier. The server keeps a count for each event name and day, not an event history, for up to 120 days. You can turn this off in Settings > Privacy. When it is off, these usage-count events are not sent. As with any internet request, the connection has an IP address; Render may process it in standard server logs as described below.
- Pro subscription status: when the app starts, it asks RevenueCat whether Pro is active. Because the app has no login, the RevenueCat SDK generates and stores an anonymous App User ID on the device. RevenueCat also receives the IP address associated with its network requests and, if you subscribe, purchase and subscription information provided through Apple, such as the product and subscription status. We use this information to unlock Pro and restore purchases. RevenueCat's policy is at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Ordinary connection data: like any server, our hosting provider (Render) sees the IP address of each request in its standard logs. We do not use it to identify you or to build a profile.
What Stays on Your Device
- Your starred coins and stocks (watchlist), the alerts you have read, and your settings (language, appearance, Pro tools, usage counts).
- Cached market data, so the app can show the last answer while it loads the new one.
You can remove all of it by deleting the app.
Data Sources
Market data comes through our server from public and licensed providers, including Alpaca Markets (U.S. stock prices), CoinGecko (cryptocurrency market data), and public filings and market data from SEC EDGAR, Nasdaq, CBOE and FINRA. These providers receive requests from our server, not from your device, so they do not see your IP address. The app may also request cryptocurrency prices from CoinGecko directly when our server is unavailable; in that case CoinGecko sees your IP address as it would for any request. Its policy is at https://www.coingecko.com/en/privacy.
Advertising and Tracking
The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking tools. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Service providers process the limited information needed to operate the app: Render hosts our server and may process connection data in its logs; market-data providers respond to requests from our server; Apple processes App Store purchases; and RevenueCat processes subscription information and reports whether Pro is active. These providers handle information under their own privacy policies and service terms. The RevenueCat and CoinGecko privacy links are listed above.
Security
All requests use HTTPS.
Children's Privacy
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Not Investment Advice
Market Insight is for research and education. Its readings are generated from market data and technical indicators, are not predictions, and are not investment advice.
Changes to This Policy
